Welcome to the website for Sir Marmaduke Rawdon’ Regiment of Foote AkA Rawdons.

Rawdons is one of the largest regiments of the King’s Army and part of the English Civil War Society (ECWS). For more information on the ECWS, please click here.

As part of the ECWS, Rawdon’s magnificently re-enact the battles that were fought during the English Civil War 1642-1651. As well as the battles, Skirmishes, Drill Displays and other scenes from Military Life, Rawdon’s Regiment also re-enact the domestic life of those alive during this period with our fabulous living history displays.

Who was Sir Marmaduke Rawdon and what part did he play in the English Civil War?

Yes, indeed he was a real man and yes indeed he did comand a regiment during the War.

Sadly, our former comander did pass away but what about our fantastic current C/O?

“All your costume and kit must have cost a lot of money” This is one of the most frequent questions that we hear when it comes to those interested in joining Rawdon’s and one of the main assumptions that can stop people joining the fun!
